Bart Vaes, Ph.D joined ReGenesys in 2010 as a senior scientist and is currently Associate Director and Site Leader of the Leuven based company. In this role, he is overseeing multiple R&D activities focussing on stem cell production and characterization methods, and novel therapeutic applications. Being a member of the Regenerative Medicine Innovation Platform (RegMed) community, he is involved in a network of collaborations that aim to develop next generation products for regenerative medicine. Prior to ReGenesys, Dr. Vaes was a post-doctoral fellow at the University of Wageningen (the Netherlands) and a pre-doctoral fellow at Baylor College of Medicine (Houston, TX), investigating transcriptomics in bone biology, and studying the influence of nutritional factors on mesenchymal stem cell differentiation. Dr. Vaes obtained his PhD from the University of Nijmegen, department of Applied Biology (The Netherlands).
