Amit gained a Ph.D. in molecular microbiology from the University of Delhi, India before joining MRC Molecular Haematology unit, Weatherall Institute of Molecular Medicine, the University of Oxford as a postdoc. His postdoctoral work was focused on advancing our understanding of various aspects of hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs) biology, including lineage fate decisions, aging, and leukaemia. In 2017 he moved to GSK, where he mainly focuses on establishing the cutting-edge high throughput single cell approaches in combination with CRISPR editing to address key biological questions and supporting projects in different disease areas.
