Rafi Emmanuel

Research Director
Emendo Biotherapeutics
Rafi Emmanuel is a research director at Emendo Biotherapeutics with scientific responsibilities in designing and testing editing strategies for therapeutic applications, developing iPSCs-based models of diseases, determining the optimal Cas9-gRNA compositions for each indication and demonstrating their efficiency, accuracy and efficacy in iPSCs and patient- derived cells. He holds a PhD in molecular biology from the Weizmann Institute of Science in the field of transcription and translation regulation of genes. Completed his postdoctoral training at Tel Aviv University where he developed liposomes-based vehicles for targeted delivery of siRNAs and small molecules. Prior to joining Emendo, he was a senior intern at the Weizmann Institute of Science where he established tools for homologous recombination-mediated endogenous epitope tagging using rAAV constructs for studying the function of driver mutations in melanoma.
