Manuel Martinez-Garcia
Manuel Martinez-Garcia (MMG) was graduated with full marks and honors in Biology (University of Alicante, Spain) and he received a PhD in Molecular Microbial Ecology. He has conducted three postdoctoral stays in Europe at the Max Planck Institute for Marine Microbiology (Bremen, Germay), Ludwig-Maximilians University (Munich, Germany) and the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic. Later, Manuel Martinez moved to USA, where, as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Single Cell Genomics Center (Bigelow Laboratory Maine, USA), he was developing cutting-edge techniques of Single Cell Genomics combined with Metagenomics. Nowadays, MMG is Associate Professor of Microbiology at the University of Alicante and lead the group of Single-Cell and –Virus Genomics and Metagenomics.
