Laura Kolb

FE Clinical Cancer Genomics
Laura Kolb is Head of the Clinical Cancer Genomics Unit at the non-profit biopharmaceutical research organization Translational Oncology at the University Medical Center of the Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz (TRON), Germany. She is using single cell RNA-sequencing to gain a deeper understanding of cell heterogeneity in cancer and other severe diseases. Her major research interest is the dissection of immune and tumor cell-type specific mechanisms related to individualized therapies and biomarkers. She received her PhD in 2016 at the Federal Institute of Technology at Lausanne (EPFL), Switzerland, where she worked on three-dimensional reconstruction of dynamic and niche-specific stem cell culture platforms through photopatterning and microfluidics.
