Corporate Social Responsibility

Our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) company policy refers to our responsibility toward our environment. Our company is part of a bigger system of people, values, other organizations and nature.

We want to be a responsible business that meets the highest standards of ethics and professionalism.

Our company’s social responsibility falls under two categories: compliance and proactiveness. Compliance refers to our company’s commitment to legality and willingness to observe community values. Proactiveness is every initiative to promote human rights, help communities and protect our natural environment.

Compliance

Legality – Our company will:

  • Respect the law
  • Honour its internal policies
  • Ensure that all its business operations are legitimate
  • Keep every partnership and collaboration open and transparent

Business ethics
We’ll always conduct business with integrity and respect to human rights. We’ll promote:

  • Safety and fair dealing
  • Respect toward the consumer
  • Anti-bribery and anti-corruption practices

Protecting the environment – Our company recognizes the need to protect the natural environment. Keeping our environment clean and unpolluted is a benefit to all. We’ll always follow best practices when disposing rubbish and using chemical substances.

Protecting people – We’ll ensure that we:

  • Don’t risk the health and safety of our employees and community.
  • Support diversity and inclusion.

Human rights – Our company is dedicated to protecting human rights. We are a committed equal opportunity employer and will abide by all fair labour practices. We’ll ensure that our activities do not directly or indirectly violate human rights in any country (e.g. forced labour).

Proactiveness

Donations and aid – Our company preserves a budget to make monetary donations on an annual basis to various charities of our choice. These donations will aim to:

  • Advance the arts, education and community events.
  • Alleviate those in need.

Preserving the environmentApart from legal obligations, our company will proactively protect the environment. Examples of relevant activities include:

  • Recycling
  • Conserving energy

Learning – We will actively invest in R&D. We will be open to suggestions and listen carefully to ideas. Our company will try to continuously improve the way it operates.

We’ll readily act to promote our identity as a socially aware and responsible business. Management must communicate this policy on all levels. Managers are also responsible for resolving any CSR issues.

Speaker Diversity

Equality and diversity are important to Oxford Global and we are committed to promoting equal opportunities and supporting diversity. Oxford Global is committed to a policy of treating all prospective contributors equally.

We at Oxford Global pride ourselves on recognising the valuable contribution of people from diverse backgrounds with a variety of experiences and perspectives. Everyone who interacts with Oxford Global can be sure of fair consideration. Therefore, no individual shall receive less favourable treatment or consideration on the grounds of age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage & civil partnership, race, religion or belief, sex, or sexual orientation. Our equal opportunities policy extends to the treatment of all our stakeholders.

Our Selection process:

Our events are produced by individual producers, who work with an advisory board of experts in the field. Oxford Global’s commitment to equality and diversity is reflected by our selection processes and the content we deliver. We are dedicated to promoting equality of opportunity, and a culture of inclusivity and diversity.

We invite speakers and contributors based on the work that they are currently undertaking, it’s relevance to our congress and the level of seniority and experience they have within their field. We follow the below process when inviting speakers:

  • We identify a target group of decision makers who will be of interest to our sponsors (the delegate profile for the event, e.g. industrial experts working in Stem Cell Research)
  • We lead-source experts using speaker rosters from similar meetings and lists from academic departments. We utilize resources such as https://www.ebrc.org/diversity-speaker-suggestions
  • We confirm target speakers who accept our invitation to participate on a first-come first-served basis

Changing the industry, one conference at a time:

We recognise that women, disabled people and those from ethnic minorities or socially disadvantaged groups are underrepresented in the industry, particularly at senior levels. Our aim is to ensure our selection processes are fair and treat everyone with equal consideration. We carefully plan our events ensuring we support diversity and create an inclusive environment – our equal opportunities policy informs our event planning and operations. It is one of our major objectives to participate in fostering a culture of inclusivity and equality in the industry, thereby supporting greater participation and success.

We produce cutting edge congresses and summits for the Life Sciences Industry, bringing together industry leaders and solution providers at a senior level, creating the opportunity to partner, network and knowledge share.
