Selina Taferner

Philipp Nold
Selina Taferner studied Medical and Pharmaceutical Biotechnology at the University of Applied Sciences in Krems (Lower Austria) and is currently working as a Scientist at Drug Substance Development at Novartis in Schaftenau, where she also completed her master thesis. During this thesis, which focused on Raman Spectroscopy and its use as a PAT tool in upstream processing, she was able to implement the system in the 20l pilot plant where she tested out its limitation and compared it to alternatives, such as dielectric spectroscopy and data-driven modelling approaches. This work offers the possibility to gather deeper process understanding as well as offering a huge opportunity in regards to automation.
