Nahid Turan, PhD, is Chief Laboratory Officer at Coriell Institute for Medical Research, a world-renowned biobank and research institute located in New Jersey. Dr. Turan manages Coriells laboratory and biobanking infrastructure and helps steer all operational decisions. She leads Coriells Cell Culture, Molecular Biology, Stem Cell, Cytogenetics, Genotyping and Sequencing laboratories, and the Biobanking Logistics, Quality Assurance, Safety, and Customer Service departments. Prior to her current role, Dr. Turan also served as Director of Laboratory Operations at Coriell, and Principal Investigator for two world renowned repository collections, together funded at over $32M. As a member of Coriells Executive Leadership Team since 2016, she is involved in driving the strategic mission of the Institute. Dr. Turan earned her BSc in biochemistry, MSC in toxicology, and PhD in biochemistry and molecular biology from the University of Birmingham, UK. She also has over six years postdoctoral training in human genetics and epigenetics.
