Chris joined MaxCyte to manage and build the Field Applications Scientist Team. Prior to this, he was the Director of Motivate Consulting, a company providing innovative thinking and bespoke training, to guide businesses in the biopharma, biotech and medical diagnostics sectors on how to translate their scientific innovations into commercial success.
Before Motivate, Chris worked at Genetix Ltd, steering the company into developing automated solutions for processing and monitoring mammalian cells. He built a team of cell biology experts to design and validate new technologies, created and headed up application support and training teams. Following the acquisition of Genetix by Molecular Devices, he assumed the role of Global Lead Scientist for Biotherapeutics. He is key inventor of ClonePix technology, widely used in biopharmaceutical discovery and cell line development to screen, find and isolate rare secreting cells.
Chris has a strong background in cardiovascular disease research, having held Senior Scientist positions at Leeds General Infirmary UK, Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans USA, INSERM at the University of Rennes France, and MRC Genomic and Molecular Medicine Unit at Hammersmith Hospital UK. Chris was awarded a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from Leeds University, UK in 1990.
